One by One

Clarksville is a growing, vibrant city with more than 170,000 people calling it home. Behind those numbers are real stories—soldiers and their families, teachers and students, nurses and patients, entrepreneurs and dreamers, neighbors and strangers.

What if, together, we set our hearts on something bold and faithful:
to have a meaningful, Christ-centered connection with 1% of Clarksville?

  • That’s 1,700 lives.
  • 1,700 names.
  • 1,700 stories.

This vision is not about numbers—it’s about people. Every person is created in the image of God and loved with the same self-giving love that sent Jesus into the world. When we talk about sharing our faith, we are not talking about pressure or persuasion, but about embodying God’s love in ways that invite others into God’s story and a community of grace.

This series invites us to see our city differently—to listen more deeply, serve more intentionally, and walk alongside our neighbors with compassion and courage. This is not a program. It’s a movement. A way of living our faith one conversation, one prayer, one act of kindness at a time.

Can this really happen? Yes. The math is simple.

  • Clarksville population: ~170,000
  • 1% of Clarksville: 1,700 people
  • Average Hilldale worship attendance: ~120
  • That’s about 15 meaningful touches per person per year
  • Or 1 person every 3 weeks

That’s not overwhelming—it’s hopeful.

What counts as a “touch”?

A personal interaction where someone experiences Christ’s love through you or through Hilldale. For example:

  • Listening to a coworker’s story over lunch
  • Praying with or for a neighbor
  • Delivering a meal or helping someone in need
  • Volunteering in the community as a representative of Hilldale
  • Sharing a devotional or testimony and following up with conversation

The goal is not recruitment—it’s relationship. Instead of asking, “How do we grow our church?” we ask, “What is God already doing in Clarksville, and how can I join?

This invitation is for everyone—children and grandparents, students and teachers, longtime members and newcomers. When we show up in simple, faithful ways, God weaves those small acts into something bigger: a church that is present, a people who shine, and a city touched by grace.
