What's The Plan?
We will focus this year on the following items, which demonstrate who we are and who we WANT to be.
We have a desire for Hilldale to grow within the community and show love for all. Emphasis on our connection through:
- F.U.E.L.
- Prayer Shawl and Pillowcase Ministries
- Urban Ministries
- Project Transformation
- Good Neighbor

We have a desire for Hilldale to grow the youth and children’s programs.
Emphasis on our programming:
- Growth in all aspects
- Increased activities for youth and children of all ages
- Nursing and sensory room additions
- Increased volunteer participation
Emphasis on Marketing:
- Personal invitations
- Explicit communicatio
We have a desire for Hilldale to foster interaction between generations using small groups and events.
Emphasis on cross-generational connection:
- Topic of Interest and Bible Study Groups
- Plan ahead- pick dates and announce events
- Encourage all ages to lead
Emphasis on Marketing:
- Personal invitations
- Invite the community
We have a desire for Hilldale to be inclusive in worship.
Emphasis on our worship service:
- Incorporating new styles of music
- More inclusive of youth and children in worship activities
- ASL as part of special music and special events (for children and adults)
Emphasis on congregant participation:
- Invitation to participate
We have a desire for Hilldale to be a place of word, work, and diversity.
Who are we? Tell the story of Hilldale through:
- Weekly video announcements
- Focus on our ministries and local connections
- Focus on increasing diverse groups
- Increase internal and external communication about involvement in services and events
- Welcoming to all as part of our family not just as part of our community
We have a desire for Hilldale to be in fellowship together.
Emphasis on midweek ministry:
- Begin once a month following Easter
- Share a meal, prayer, and group fellowship
- Classes based on interests could include:
- Bible Study
- Self-Help
- Sign-language
- Workshops
- Emphasis on invitations for outside participation: Bring a friend!
We have a desire for Hilldale to focus on active discipleship.
Emphasis on Hilldale’s mission to BE disciples:
- Integrate study themes across Sunday school classes
- Emphasize action
- Identify community needs and step into service
Emphasis on faithfulness in our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
What will we do?
We will begin a focus on two priority areas at a time. Evaluation and emphasis checks every
30 days -- 90 days -- 3 months
What will you see?
Implementation of focus on emphasized areas. You may have already seen some of these!!
For example: Increased event communication, midweek videos, and a focus on congregational involvement
What comes next?
We will focus on two areas and then add an additional two areas every three months.
These areas will take focus, participation, and some change. We will communicate changes with you before they happen!
What can YOU do?
- Own the vision! This is the vision of Hilldale as a whole. It is the responsibility of every member of our family to work toward every part of our vision.
Pray about it and act! Participate often and invite others!
